Lisa Shauyn Walker, 58, of Burlington, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at her home.
Born Feb. 8, 1964, in Clovis, N.M., she was the daughter of Harlen Lane and Roberta Ann Russell Peterson. On Dec. 29, 1984, she married Harvey David Walker in California.
Lisa graduated from Winnetonka High School in Kansas City, Mo. in 1982. She later received her CDA.
She worked in childcare at Headstart and YMCA Daycare and had a passion for taking care of children.
Lisa was very religious, she loved God and going to Church. She was a big Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved Starbucks coffee. Lisa put others before herself and would do anything to make others happy. She loved shopping for her grandbabies and spending time with her family.
Survivors include husband, of Burlington; son, Sean (Arrin Kartel) Walker of Middletown; sister, Shannon (David) Collier of Davenport; sister-in-law, Nancy Howe of Burlington; adopted children, Marcus (Hanna) Timmons of Burlington; adopted granddaughter, La'Myah and many friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lane "Tiger" Robert Peterson.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The memorial service for Mrs. Walker will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at Union Baptist Church Full Gospel Fellowship with Pastor Marcus Timmons officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the church following the service.
A memorial has been established for the family.
