Lyman Gene Baker, 73, of Doniphan, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born Oct. 7, 1948, in Edina, Mo., he was the son of Lorraine and Naomi Luke Baker. He married Nola “June” Payne on June 9, 1979, in Doniphan. She died Feb. 25, 2021.
Lyman worked in inventory control for General Electric for 31 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and working in his yard.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Monika Deatsch of Lakeville, Minn.; one son, Mark (Jackie) Baker of Burlington; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Shirley) Baker of Fort Madison and Richard (Jeanie) Baker of Augusta, Iowa; and two sisters, Janet (Mike) Levins of West Burlington and Janice Alber Baker of Lomax.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; step-son, Martin Payne; sister, Elizabeth Hirte; and two brothers, Larry Baker and Robert Baker.
The funeral service for Mr. Baker will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12th at Lunning Chapel. Visitation with family present will be from 5 p.m. until the time of services on Tuesday. Interment will be held at a later date in Hunt-White Memorial Garden in Doniphan, Mo.
A memorial has been established for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
