Anita Kathryn Janik, 75, of Burlington, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
Anita was born May 28, 1949, in Anniston, Ala., the daughter of Joseph and Nell Johnson Janik.
She was a 1967 graduate of Burlington High School.
Anita worked for US West for 30 years where she retired in 1998, and later worked at Dillons BBQ for 20 years.
Anita enjoyed the simple things in life. She liked the peace of a nice cup of coffee; watching "Friends" or various British T.V. shows; and adored the album "Yanni - Live at the Acropolis" and The Three Tenors. She had a big heart and appreciated taking care of the people she loved. Her life revolved around her family. Her son and new twin grand-babies were everything to her. Anita's kindness and warmth will be missed, but her memory and legacy will continue on through her family.
Family includes her son, Adam (Noor) Janik; siblings, Marty (Krista) Janik, and Shannon Eicher; grandchildren, Cru and Sam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, niece, and one great-nephew.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Anita's family will receive guests at Prugh Funeral Service (3940 Division St., Burlington) on Friday, Nov. 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. concluding with a celebration of life at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions in Anita's memory are suggested to her family and will be used for her grandchildren's future education.
