Diana “Dee Dee” Glancy, 66, of Burlington, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.
Dee Dee was born March 29, 1957, in Burlington, the daughter of Alfred and Joanne Doebele Oetken. On Aug. 30, 1980, she married Dennis Glancy in Burlington.
Dee Dee graduated from Burlington High School in 1975.
Dee Dee worked many jobs before obtaining her Realtor license. Dee Dee went on to open Re/Max in West Burlington with six of her colleagues. She was proud of her work and being a part of the Burlington community. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and most of all, her grandchildren. She also enjoyed boating on the river and shopping, where she always had a coupon and never paid full price for anything. Dee Dee volunteered for many organizations throughout her life including The Girl Scouts, Miss Burlington Scholarship Program, Hospice, and Steamboat Days. While Dee Dee’s passing leaves a hole in our hearts, her memory and legacy will continue through all who love her.
Dee Dee is survived by her husband, Dennis Glancy; children, Ashlee (Luke) Barnes and Ben (Kelsey) Glancy; grandchildren, Lydia Barnes, Shea Barnes, Cole Barnes, and Charli Glancy, and a granddaughter expected to arrive any day; her sister, Nancy (Ted) Gutman; niece Holly (Ryan) Luttenegger; nephew Teddy (Justina) Gutman; great nephews Jackson Luttenegger, Brock Luttenegger, and Theo Gutman; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dee Dee was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Family will receive guests on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024 from 12 to 2 p.m. for visitation, concluding with a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Prugh Funeral Service (3940 Division Street, Burlington).
