Brent Allen Harrison

Brent Allen Harrison, 61, of Dallas City, Ill., died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at his home. Brent was born May 23, 1963, in Burlington, the son of Charles “Charlie” and Delores “Dee” Harrison. 

After attending Dallas City High School, he worked as a deck hand on barges. He also worked for his father at Harrison Construction and with his sister and brother-in-law at Quality Fisheries in Niota. 
Brent’s favorite thing to do was to be out on the river. He loved fishing and would often share his catch with family and friends.  When he wasn’t on the river, he enjoyed mushroom hunting and just being outdoors. He also enjoyed having his own garden and growing his own vegetables. 
Brent was a quiet and very kind man who always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was also an avid NASCAR and Indianapolis Colts fan.

Survivors include four sisters: Theresa (Kirby) Marsden of Fort Madison, Cheri (David) Stevens of Dallas City, Julie (David) Nudd of Dallas City and Stacie Harrison of Estero, Fla. and numerous nieces and nephews. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, one nephew (Ryan Marsden) and one great nephew (Duncan Stevens). 

A celebration of Brent’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. Burial will follow in Pontoosuc Cemetery. 

A memorial fund has been established for the Dallas City Food Pantry.
