Colonel Jack Elliott Easton, U.S. Army (Ret.), of Folsom, California, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025. Born in Burlington, on March 10, 1940, Jack devoted his life to family, friendship, and service to his country.
He is survived by his children Amy Conley, Eric Easton, and Stefanie Walker; grandsons Blake Northam, William Walker, Elijah Easton, and Gabriel Easton; and his brother, Lowell Easton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Easton; his son, Mark Easton; and his parents, Robert and Marciel Easton.
Jack served in the U.S. Army for 28 years, achieving the rank of Colonel. A master parachutist and aviator, he completed two tours in Vietnam and participated in the Grenada and Panama operations. His distinguished career earned him 61 medals for valor and service.
Confident and fiercely loyal, Jack loved a good story, real or embellished, and never missed a chance to tell one. A soldier, a patriot, and a devoted family man, Jack’s life stands as a testament to duty, love, and perseverance.
The funeral services for Col. Jack Easton will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 24 at Lunning Chapel. Entombment will follow at Aspen Grove Cemetery will follow with full military honors provided by the Iowa Army National Guard.
