Timothy Allen Sayres, 67, of West Burlington, died peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Klein Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

Tim was born on October 3, 1958, in Burlington, Iowa to Norman and Frances Wilkerson Sayres. He was a 1977 graduate of Danville High School

Timothy worked as a semi-truck driver and later Odessa Mechanical Contracting. He retired due to health issues. In his free time, he enjoyed NASCAR, sprint car racing, and especially vintage sprint car racing with his cousins, the Ensminger family.

He is survived by his sister, Connie Wagner of West Burlington; three nieces, Heidi (Ted) Pallister of Wapello; Kari (Joel) Buck of Danville; Erin Carson Hickman of West Burlington; his aunt, Carolyn Samberg of Burlington; one great niece; six great nephews, one great-great niece and one great-great nephew. He is also survived by several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Cozell Wagner.

Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.

A private burial will occur at a later date.

A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice, River Junction Neighborhood at the Klein Center, and New London Specialty Care for the compassionate care and support they provided to Tim.
