Tamra Jean Moyner, 53, of Burlington, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Dec. 10, 1970, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ronald and Donna Hightower Diercks. She married Gary Moyner on Nov. 24, 1990, in Burlington.
Tamra was a homemaker and attended Burlington Baptist Church.
She was an avid runner and participated in several races yearly with the Bix 7 and the Great River Bridge races. She was a licensed cosmetologist and enjoyed cutting hair for many of her friends and family. Tamra loved baking, spoiling her cats, “Nutmeg” and “Boogie T”, yardwork, planting flowers and photography. She was an immaculate homemaker and took pride in her home.
Survivors include her husband Gary Moyner of Burlington; one son Alexander “Alex” (Danielle) Moyner of Burlington; two grandchildren, Zeriah Lynn Moyner and Arijannah Lee Moyner; her parents, Ronald and Donna Diercks of Burlington; five sisters, Tina White of Texaco, Ill., Terri Helmick of Burlington, Amanda Diercks of St. Louis, Mo. and Mary Diercks and Rachel Diercks both of Burlington and one brother David Diercks of Eureka, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
The memorial funeral service for Tamra will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18 at Burlington Baptist Church. Pastor Kendall Adams will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
A memorial has been established for the family.
Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
