I'm excited to announce we are nearing the publication of a weekly print product tentatively slated to hit the streets later this summer. As I continue to work out the logistics, I will keep you updated on the final publication date.
Several of our readers have contacted me about home delivery subscriptions. To that end, we are offering an early-bird home delivery rate of $45 ($60 beginning in August) for a 52-week subscription. We already have our first subscriber, and early-bird subscriptions are now available until the end of the month.
How to Pay:
• You can pay in person via check, cash, or credit/debit card by visiting B-Town Comics & Games at 609 Jefferson St. in downtown Burlington during business hours (Monday through Saturday noon to 6 p.m.).
• You can mail a check with your information (name, address, contact number, and delivery instructions) to The Burlington Beacon at 611 Jefferson St., Burlington, Iowa. Make checks payable to The Burlington Beacon.
• Note: We are working on an online payment option as well.
We are a small staff, so we are initially limiting home delivery to within the city limits of Burlington and West Burlington. We also reserve the right to refuse delivery. We will expand delivery when possible. Note: We may shift to postal delivery of newspapers in the future, which may delay delivery depending on our print schedule. A final decision on postal delivery has not yet been determined.
The weekly print product will be available every Thursday and will cost $1.50 per copy to purchase. Initially, non-delivery newspapers can be picked up at B-Town Comics & Games or at the Beacon office (611 Jefferson St.) during business hours. We will add more sales locations when possible. We will also have a booth at Jefferson Street Farmers Market later this summer.
Thanks to all our readers for your support. I'll keep you updated as things progress.
Sincerely,
Jeff Abell,
Owner and publisher of The Burlington Beacon
