Julia Pearl Hanley Pezley, 91, of Nauvoo, Ill. passed away at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.
She was born on October 11, 1934, in Lewistown, Mo., the daughter of Elza and Lucretia Pearl Hanley, On April 11, 1953, she married Gene Pezley in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1980.

Survivors include her six children: Brenda (Kelly) Logan, Carol (Mark) Zumdome, Dale (Vicki) Pezley, Ralph (Carla) Pezley, Mary (Doug) Beaird, Lora (Mike) Azinger; son-in-law: Ben Crowell; thirteen grandchildren: Daniel Crowell, Kimberly Logan, Gretchen Sherrill, Leighann Sherrill, John Sherrill, Amy Lauber, Cole Pezley, Matthew Pezley, Hilary Beaird, Dilan Beaird, Amanda Azinger-Tryba and Brett Azinger; twenty-five great grandchildren; two great - great grandchildren; brother: Hurley Hanley and sister-in-law: Sherrie Hanley. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Gene; daughter: Diana Lynn Crowell; grandson: Christopher Crowell; great granddaughters: Sherry Crowell and Nora Azinger and brother: Harold Hanley.

Julia retired from Sheller Globe in Keokuk. She was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Friends may call after 12:00 noon, Monday, October 27, 2025, at Schmitz - Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo, Illinois, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Schmitz - Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Nauvoo, with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating.
Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa.

A memorial has been established in her memory for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
