Anthony Charles “Tony” Zurmuehlen, 39, of Burlington, died Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Born September 7, 1984, in Burlington, he was the son of Robert and Kathryn Aller Zurmuehlen.
Tony absolutely loved the outdoors and spent most of his time with his daughter, mother, and four-legged best friend, Ruger. His favorite things he enjoyed the most were hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and being on the river. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Dolphins fan. He had the biggest heart, and so many friends and would do anything for anyone.
He is survived by his daughter, Joquel Zurmuehlen; mother Kathyrn Zurmuehlen; brother Matt (Kristin) Zurmuehlen; sister Kyla (Doug) Mackey; nieces and nephews, Travis Peel, Kaitlyn Zurmuehlen, Colton Zurmuehlen, Brailyn Zurmuehlen, Cameron Mackey, Mia Mackey and Graham Mackey and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, Kenny and Ginny Aller and paternal grandparents Robert and Merle Zurmuehlen.
The funeral service for Tony will be 4 p.m. Friday, March 29 at Lunning Chapel. Visitation with family present will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for his daughter Joquel’s education.
Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service and has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at Harvest View Farms, located North of Burlington, following the funeral service.
