James Helmick, 55, of Burlington, died Tuesday, Jan. 4,
 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born Feb. 2, 1966, in Burlington, he was the son of Charles 
Helmick III and Pauline Williams Walker. On April 14, 2000, he married 
Jamie Whittemore in Fort Madison.&nbsp;

Survivors include his wife, Jamie; four children; Stormy Hughes of&nbsp; Mount Pleasant, Aaron Helmick of&nbsp; Burlington, Josh Porter of Mount Pleasant, and Cory Porter of Fort Madison; one grandchild, 
Raiden and one grandchild on the way; two brothers, Russell Poland of&nbsp; 
Burlington and Nathan Helmick of&nbsp; Oklahoma; two sisters, Deloris Gates 
of Oklahoma and Donna Helmick of Quincy, Ill..

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

There are no formal services at this time a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Prugh Funeral Service is in care of the arrangements.
