Dominic Allan Snyder, 24, took his own life Dec. 12, 2023. He was born Sept. 24, 1999, the son of Dustin and Megan Snyder.

He was an old soul who knew the most random information and could talk hours about cars, futból and music. He loved food and travel, he was always up for a new adventure. His wit, sarcasm, and charm helped him meet new people and make new friends easily.  Dominic loved his brother Christian and sister Aliya immensely. He made sure to always spend time with them and make them feel special.

Dominic was a technical engineer in the Army Reserve 411 Engineer Company. He recently returned home from a 10-month deployment in the Middle East.

He currently resided in West Des Moines but was born, raised, and graduated high school in Burlington.

Dominic was a believer in Jesus Christ and was baptized in 2016. He served on several Work Camp trips with First Christian Church and served on a mission trip to Haiti.

Dominic was survived by his parents Dustin and Megan Snyder of Burlington brother Christian Snyder of Cedar Rapids; sister Aliya Snyder of Burlington; paternal grandmother, Marsha Snyder of Burlington; maternal grandmother; Janet Schupback of Burlington; aunts, uncles, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, great-grandfathers, and great-grandmothers.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
