Rose Anne Massner of Burlington, born September 9, 1926, passed away February 25, 2025, at the Klein Center in West Burlington. 

Rose was born in Woodbridge, New Jersey, the daughter of Margaret Sagedy and Frank Vincze. She completed her education in Rahway, New Jersey where they lived. She was editor of her high school newspaper and once interviewed Frank Sinatra at Radio City Music Hall. In 1944 she moved to Burlington where she attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1947 from the Cadet Nurses Corp. as a registered nurse. She was a plant nurse at Sylvania Electric Co., was a school nurse for thirteen years for Burlington Community Schools, past P.T.A. president of Washington School, a Red Cross Volunteer, did First Aid at Steam Boat Days, president and treasurer of the Des Moines Medical Group and member of the Altrusa Professional Club. She attended the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church for over sixty-five years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, volunteering and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Most of all Rose loved spending time with her family.

She married Kenneth D. Massner, February 20, 1953, at the First Congregational Church in Burlington. They had one son Dr. Kirk D. (Caroline) Massner of Burlington; three grandsons: Kyler (Taylor) Massner, Dr. Kody (Madeline De Buys) Massner and Kace (Bailey Ledbetter) Massner; two great grandsons: Kasch and Rhodes Massner. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and one brother.

The visitation for Mrs. Massner will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Lunning Chapel where the family will meet with friends. The funeral service for Mrs. Massner will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Burlington Apostolic Church. Ministers of the church will officiate. There will be a short visitation held prior to the funeral service from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the City of Hope Food Pantry.
