Harold Robert Patton, 74, of Burlington, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born June 26, 1948, in Ft Madison, he was the son of Robert H. and Marian J. Buxton Patton. He married Treva M. Stewart in Fort Madison in 1979. Treva died on Nov. 17, 1983.
Harold graduated from Fort Madison High School. He was a United States Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam war. After Vietnam, he received an electrician's certificate from the Navy.
He worked for the paper mill in Fort Madison for 26 years, retiring in 2004.
Harold enjoyed being outside going fishing, squirrel hunting, and going to the rodeo. He enjoyed playing games on his computer with his grandson and loved spending time with his great-grandchildren. Harold owned Vinnie's Longbranch in Fort Madison for several years and enjoyed bartending there. He also enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeye football.
Survivors include his daughter, Georgina D. (Donnie) Lincoln of Oakville, five grandchildren, Winter (Cody Hartley) Patton of Queen City, Mo., Courtney (Daniel Reynolds) Lincoln of Burlington, Dakota Swanson of Oakville, Dakota (Brooke) Lincoln of Burlington, and Jacob (Kody Martin) Lincoln of Colorado; six great-grandchildren, Lane, Tuff, and Jace Hartley, Bentley Garrels, Owen, and Raygun Reynolds; and brother, Dale Patton of Fort Madison.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Charity Patton, sister, Carol Holand, and brother, Joseph Patton.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St.
The funeral service for Harold will be 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division St., with Pastor JudyAnn Morse officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Ft. Madison at a later date.
A memorial has been established.
