Voters in the New London School District approved a $5.375 million bond on Tuesday. The funds will be used to create additional classrooms at Clark Elementary School, construct a new gymnasium space, and add parking.
A total of 485 votes were cast, with a final tally of 328 supporting the bond and 157 against. The bond vote exceeded the needed 60 percent approval required, with 68 percent of voters in favor.
The school plans to turn the Clark Elementary School gymnasium and multipurpose room into additional classrooms. New parking will be added to help the flow of traffic and ensure pedestrian safety.
