Darwin Leon Wolford, 84, of Burlington, died Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.

Born on Nov. 4, 1939, in Union, he was the son of Richard E. and Inez I. Mitchell Wolford. On Feb. 7, 1960, in Burlington, he married Linda Jean Good. She preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 2020.

Darwin was in the graduating class of 1959 from Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He was of Presbyterian Faith. Was a member and past president of Morning Sun Lions Club and a lifetime member of the American Legion. Darwin worked for J.I. Case as a draftsman, owned, operated and drove a semi-truck for many years, was a designer for his screen-printing business that he owned and worked at Central Standard Lumber Ace Hardware.

He is survived by his two daughters: Darlene “Kay” (Rich) Bliesener of Burlington and Laura Lyn (Matt) Mangold of Wapello; son Dustin Kent (Jacque) Wolford of Wapello; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; four step great-grandchildren; sister Linda Vandeman of Ashland, Neb.; seventeen nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Also surviving is one sister-in-law and three brothers-in-law all of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Linda; one sister, one brother-in-law and two nephews.

Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
