Edgar F. Smith, 85, of Burlington, died Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born May 14, 1938, in Mc Cormick, S.C. He married Beverly Joan Starr in April 2016.&nbsp;

Edgar was very kind to everyone. He never met a stranger and he talked to everyone he came in contact with. He was a good dancer and enjoyed gardening and working in his yard.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Joan Smith of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by seven siblings.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

A memorial service for Edgar will be held and service details will be posted when they become available.

Prugh Funeral Service is in care of the arrangements.
