David D. Schnedler, 59, of Burlington, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, at Southeast Regional Medical Center in West Burlington. Born on June 21, 1965, in Burlington, he was the son of Floyd “Sonny” and Joyce Schnedler. On Feb. 14, 1997, in Burlington, he married the love of his life Rebecca “Beki” Inghram. She preceded him in death on July 26, 2014.
David worked for Dan’s Tropical Fish, cleaning exotic fish and reptile tanks for many years and other various jobs. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loved watching football. David was a phenomenal guitarist and enjoyed listening to his two favorite bands: Kinks and Rolling Stones. He could fix just about anything and was an amazing carpenter, always fixing something in the house and building decks. For a Mother’s Day gift, he dug a huge Koi fish pond with a waterfall for his wife Beki. Most of all David loved being with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Samantha (Calvin) Payne of Burlington; granddaughter Vayda Payne and grandson Amilio Payne; sister Brenda Zagorski of Burlington and brother Steve (Mary) Schnedler of Aurora, Colorado. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beki and brother Ray Schnedler.
Per his wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.
The visitation for David will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at Lunning Chapel where the family will meet with friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the Spring of 2025.
A memorial has been established in his memory to help assist with expenses.
