Connie Lynn Carpenter, 79, of Burlington, died Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born on March 22, 1947, in Monmouth, Illinois, she was the daughter of Andrew and Mable Liby Johnson. On July 13, 1969, in Monmouth, she married Donald Carpenter. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2023.

Connie was a graduate of Monmouth High School. She worked for and retired from General Electric. Connie was a lifelong member of Heritage Presbyterian Church. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, crocheting and making homemade cards, to which she loved to give to friends and family. Over the years Connie had several pet cockatiel birds and loved each on dearly, especially Buddy. Her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy and always attended events they participated in. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a sister in-law Vicky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, three sisters: Kathryn Johnson, Barbara Allard, Shirley Henry, and brother Johnny Johnson.

Per her wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2026, in Monmouth City Cemetery with Pastor David Dutton officiating.
