Milton Edward “Butch” Akey died Aug. 31, 2024. He was born Sept. 24, 1947, in Burlington, to Charles and Margaret Akey.&nbsp;

He married Sharon in 1966 at Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene in Burlington. She preceded him in death in 2018.

His survivors include his daughters, Rebecca Morgan and Esther Wescoe; one grandson;&nbsp; one great-grandson; and his sisters Debbie Krieger and Lois Akey.

Pastor Akey’s funeral was held at Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene in Burlington, on Sept. 14. His service was officiated by Rev. Larry Dodds and the Rev. Ron Jewett.

He will be laid to rest at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
