
Royal Charles Timmerman, 88, of Burlington, died Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his home.
Born June 12, 1933, in Burlington, he was the son of Clifford and Esther McKibben Timmerman.
He was a member of Salvation Army church.
Royal served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He
married Joann Marie Ross on September 11, 1954. She died January 20,
2018.
Royal was a millwright and worked maintenance at J.I. Case for 23 years retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the V.F.W. and the U.A.W. local 807. Royal
enjoyed working on his cub cadet lawnmowers. Most of all he loved his
grandkids.
Survivors include his sons Brian Timmerman of Texarkana, TX, Brad
Timmerman of Burlington and Mark Gibbs of Broken Bow, OK; grandchildren
Jessica (Mike) Shively of Ohio, Chief Warrant Officer Kimberly Timmerman
stationed in Puerto Rico with the Coast Guard, Royal Timmerman of
Texarkana, TX, Makayla Timmerman and Braden Timmerman of Roseville, IL;
two great grandchildren Davina and Bindi Timmerman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, four brothers and son John.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, May
1, 2022 at Lunning Chapel. Military rites will be held by the Burlington
Veterans Honor Guard at 10:00 Am Monday, May 2, 2022 at Lunning Chapel
with graveside service to follow at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
