Kim K Smith, 77, of Burlington, died Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born July 25, 1948, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Jean Lehman Tiemeyer.

Kim graduated from Burlington Community High School.&nbsp; She earned her Bachelor’s from Drake University and her Master’s from UNI. She started her teaching career at The Woodward State Hospital and School,&nbsp;then eventually returned to Burlington to become a Work Experience Coordinator at the Great River Area Education Agency 16. After her retirement she was active with the First Christian Church, volunteered at the Hospice House, helped campaign for the Democratic Party and was the secretary for the Des Moines County Iowa Retired School Personnel Association.

&nbsp;Kim liked the outdoors and enjoyed feeding all wildlife, especially squirrels and opossums. She and Ron took many rides through Burlington’s parks and to the riverfront. She collected teddy bears, squirrels, and weeping gold ceramics. She loved music, was a talented singer, and earned her HAM radio license so she and Ron could enjoy that together.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Ronnie "Ron" Smith; her son Andy (Teresa) Youngquist, with her former spouse John, Andy’s step siblings Jason (Amber) Dains and Heather Dains; her grandson, Evan (Dani Benjamin) Youngquist; and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

A celebration of Kim's life will be scheduled for a later date. Details will be published when they become available.

Memorial contributions in Kim's memory may be made to the Des Moines County Humane Society.

Glenda Louise Freeman, 59, of Oakville, died Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born November 15, 1965, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Glenn "Red" Polson Jr. and Karen Peterson. &nbsp;On June 26, 1991, she married Don Freeman in Burlington.

Glenda worked for many years as a housekeeper for several hotels in the Burlington area. &nbsp;She was a hard worker and had a good attention to detail. &nbsp;Glenda enjoyed traveling with her husband, Don, and took many trips around the United States. &nbsp;She loved her dogs and enjoyed spoiling them. &nbsp;Glenda looked forward to playing bingo and putting on and visiting yard sales. &nbsp;She enjoyed cooking and taking care of Don, both of which she did well. &nbsp;Her sister, Karla, was her best friend and she cherished the relationship that she had with her. &nbsp;

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Don; children, Nicole (Chad) Christofferson and Donny "Taft" (Kristen) Freeman; &nbsp;grandchildren, Tannisyn, Blake, Braxtyn, Lyblie, Kynnick, and Tayden; siblings, Cyndi (Tom) Moore, Karla Jean Polson, Lyle (Lana) Polson, and D.J. (Mary) Polson; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and special niece, Molly (Kiano) Cooper.

Glenda Louise Freeman

Robert Edward Walsh Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and devout Catholic, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025 at the age of 80 in St. George, Utah surrounded by his loving family. Born in Burlington, Iowa, on June 10, 1945 to Robert E. Walsh and Alice Bethel Mehaffy, Robert was the middle child and the last surviving sibling of Joanne Beine, Mary Hopewell, David Walsh and Joseph Walsh.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, stationed in Europe from 1963-1967. He worked as a postal specialist and always said, “The communists never invaded Europe on my watch.” His time in service reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism, qualities that guided him throughout his life. He worked as a Chemist for his adult life formulating industrial coatings. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Burlington, Iowa in 1963 and Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in 1975.

On October 28,1967 he met the love of his life, Elizabeth (Dochterman) Walsh, at a friend’s wedding and later married on February 3,1968. Together they built a life grounded in faith, laughter, and enduring love. He is survived by their two children, Deidre Bishop (Shawn) and Phillip Walsh (Colleen), and by five cherished grandchildren: Kathryn, Grace, Emma, Connor, and Evan. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Judith Jones, Mary (Steve) Fickle, Susan Lemon, Barbara Kelley, Jean Walsh and brothers-in-law James Dochterman and Mark Hopewell. Also, many nieces and nephews, cousins and those who felt like family.

Robert lived life with humor and heart. He was an avid golfer with a hole-in-one in 2015, a joyful seasonal Santa Claus, a good sport dressing up at Halloween for his daughter, and a devoted full time RV traveler, spending years exploring the country with Elizabeth by his side. He was proud of his 40 years of sobriety. He wanted to share this just to help even one person who could borrow his strength. A bit of a troublemaker in his youth, he liked to say he was “never convicted”, although he was arrested once for “inciting a riot” on Christmas Eve as a teenager. He kept that storytelling ability and mischievous Irish glint in his eye for the rest of his days.

A man of deep and abiding faith, Robert remained a committed member of the Catholic Church and was known for his quiet strength, integrity, and unconditional love for his family and friends. During this final health battle, it is fitting that his last tv moment was watching a winning touchdown for his beloved Chicago Bears.&nbsp;

A funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church, Burlington, Iowa, (tentatively June 2026; dates will be finalized when they become available) with interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made for scholarships to Notre Dame High School, 702 S. Roosevelt Ave., Burlington, Iowa 52701.&nbsp;

Michael C. "Mike" Anderson, 74, of Burlington, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.

Born on May 25, 1951, in Burlington, Mike was the cherished son of Donald C. and Norma J. Holland Anderson. His life was filled with family, friendship, hard work, and plenty of fun, creating a full and memorable journey-but one of his greatest joys began on Feb. 12, 1988, when he married the love of his life, Debra J Lamb, on the beautiful shores of Kauai, Hawaii.

A proud graduate of Burlington High School’s Class of 1969, Mike went on to Southeastern Community College on a tennis scholarship before continuing his studies at the University of Iowa. While still a student, he began what would become a nearly four-decade career with the Des Moines County Assessor’s Office. Starting as an appraiser in 1974, Mike’s dedication, integrity, and hard work guided him steadily upward until he became County Assessor in 1998-a role he served in with distinction and pride until retiring at the end of 2011.

Retirement suited Mike well. He spent his days exactly the way he wanted to, enjoying the freedom to choose what made him happiest. Whether teeing off at the golf course, enjoying an evening at the casino, or unwinding at home with his favorite shows and sports, he found joy in both the excitement and the simplicity of life. A passionate golfer, he played several times a week during the season and celebrated a memorable hole-in-one at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course in 2008. He was also a spirited sports fan, faithfully cheering for the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Cowboys, and-above all-the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Although Mike had many friends and was well known in the community, Mike’s greatest happiness was time spent with his wife, Debbie. Whether they were sharing a movie, walking the dog, or exploring a tropical getaway, these everyday moments were the ones he treasured most. Mike was a proud father of his only child, Rachael. He loved to brag to anyone who would listen about her accomplishments and loved the woman she became.

Mike had a gift for finding fun and spreading laughter, a quality that never faded. His ornery streak and mischievous humor-present since childhood, made him unforgettable. From a young age, Mike delighted in making people laugh. Stories about Mike’s antics are well noted, with anecdotes of teachers reporting his affinity for entertaining the class and an instance of introducing himself to a stranger as “Mikey-Boy Anderson” (an endearing family nickname). Even as dementia altered parts of his life, his quick wit, generosity, strong opinions, and playful spark continued to shine through. His presence filled rooms, and his spirit lives on in the countless stories, jokes, and memories he created with those lucky enough to know him.

Mike is lovingly survived by his wife, Debbie Anderson of Burlington; daughter, Rachael Anderson (John Kubrak) of Cedar Rapids; his beloved dog, Bella; and grand-dog, Chloe. He will also be deeply missed and never forgotten by his sister, Kay (Tom) Beeding of Burlington; niece, Allison (Beeding) Lansing of West Burlington; sisters-in-law Linda (Donald) McCabe of Burlington and Diane (Ron) Lamb of Holden, Missouri; special maternal aunt, MarScine Whaley; and many nieces and nephews.

He now reunites with his parents; his niece, Nicole Beeding; great-nephew Carter; many cherished grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved dogs Brandy, Brutus, and Wulfgar.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Prugh Crematory. A private graveside memorial at Aspen Grove Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Randy Ray Wagner Jr., 48, of Burlington, died Friday, November 14, 2025, at his home. Born February 22, 1977, in Colorado Springs, Colo., he was the son of Randy Ray and Pamela Sue Wagner.&nbsp;

Randy was a bartender at Doris' for many years and was known as one of Burlington's Finest.

He always kept himself busy; whether he was playing pool, bingo, darts, bowling, video games, riding his motorcycle, or heading out to fish. Randy was always fun to be around and had a special way of making everyone laugh. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs, and the Hawkeyes. You could often find him at Napoli's or grabbing a cone from Grandpa’s Ice Cream. Most of all, he loved his family. He enjoyed taking the grandkids to the arcade and helping out with their youth pool league.

Survivors include his daughters, Ausslin (Jordan Carey) Wagner, Breanna Erickson, Cortney Lacy and Randi Wagner; five grandchildren, Beau Wilkerson, Levi Lacy, Axl Kenndey, Junie Fynquist, and Jolin Carey; four step-children, Fisher Orth, Connor Orth, Peyton Orth, and Ayden Dunaway; his girlfriend, Michelle Stearns; one brother, Chad (Jennifer) Wagner; three nephews, Jace Wagner, Brock Wagner, and Andrew Devries; and aunts and uncles, Jimmy Day, Laurie Day, Debbie West, Steve West, and Harold "Buzz" (Gayle) Wagner.

Randy Ray Wagner Jr.

Marguerite Doris “Margie” Blindt, 95, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at her home on November 20, 2025. Margie was born on November 19, 1930, to Gabriel and Ellen Moffit Wilkens in Nauvoo, Ill. On April 19, 1952, she was united in marriage to Roland Joseph “Joe” Blindt, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2009. Margie once wrote, “Of all the wonderful, happy memories of my childhood, nothing compared to the 57 years that I shared with Joe, the love of my life.” Together, they built a loving home, welcoming their three children through adoption. She always said her children were her most precious gifts and that they came by special delivery.&nbsp;

Margie was an active volunteer with many organizations, including Legion of Mary and the Big Sister program. Notably, Margie co-founded Birthright of Burlington in June 1974 and served as a regional consultant for 22 Iowa chapters, as well as chapters in Kansas and Nebraska. She participated in RAGBRAI, biking 523 miles across Iowa while wearing t-shirts with the Iowa Birthright phone number to raise awareness about the organization and spark meaningful conversations along the ride. In 1988, she and twelve colleagues from across the U.S. were invited to the White House and recognized by President Ronald Reagan for their advocacy.&nbsp;

She loved exploring the world, traveling multiple times to Canada and Europe, with her most memorable international trip taking her on a pilgrimage through Bethlehem and Jerusalem. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing as often as possible. She was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother and attended countless programs, games, and activities to show her support.&nbsp;

“Every day's a good day,” she would say, appreciating the beauty of life and the blessings of her faith, family, and friends. Margie will be remembered for her devotion to her Catholic faith, unconditional love of her family, compassion for others, gentleness, and humility. Her grandchildren will remember her as the world’s best Teddy Bear Picnic host, chocolate chip cookie master, pretend play extraordinaire, and overall best grandma and “Grandma Great.”

She is survived by sons Terry Blindt and Anthony Blindt, and daughter Teresa (Kenneth) Brueck; grandchildren: Benjamin Brueck, Justin (Julie) Brueck, Joseph (Kandi) Blindt, Nicholas (Haley) Blindt, Annalicia (Jacob) Wischmeier, Katelynn Blindt (Dakota Oberman), Jacob (Marie) Brueck, EmilyAnn (Spencer) Walrath, Jennifer (Zachary) Klein, Jessica Blindt (Marco Torres), MaryKatherine (Drew) Gaurke, MargaretMary (Michael) Franco; and great-grandchildren: Kadin, Gavin, Chloe, Conner, Maxwell, Eliza, Samuel, Oliver, Harlynn, Jacob, Callum, Bella, Bryce, Violet, Scarlett, Liam, Eli, Evelynn, Simon, Joseph, Caleb, Linus, Elaina, Ava, Cecilia, Cora, and Carolynn.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters: Mary Delaney, Virginia Benjamin, Frieda Haas, and Ruth Grunewald, brother William Wilkens, and daughter-in-law Gina Louise Blindt.

Visitation will be from noon until 6:30 PM with the family to receive friends following a 4:00 PM Rosary Service until 6:30 PM Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.&nbsp;

The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Margie will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at St. Paul's Church Hall following the burial.

 </figure>Marguerite Doris “Margie” Blindt, 95, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at her home on November 20, 2025. Margie was born on November 19, 1930, to Gabriel and Ellen Moffit Wilkens in Nauvoo, Ill. On April 19, 1952, she was united in marriage to Roland Joseph “Joe” Blindt, who preceded her in death on March 23, 2009. Margie once wrote, “Of all the wonderful, happy memories of my childhood, nothing compared to the 57 years that I shared with Joe, the love of my life.” Together, they built a loving home, welcoming their three children through adoption. She always said her children were her most precious gifts and that they came by special delivery.&nbsp;Margie was an active volunteer with many organizations, including Legion of Mary and the Big Sister program. Notably, Margie co-founded Birthright of Burlington in June 1974 and served as a regional consultant for 22 Iowa chapters, as well as chapters in Kansas and Nebraska. She participated in RAGBRAI, biking 523 miles across Iowa while wearing t-shirts with the Iowa Birthright phone number to raise awareness about the organization and spark meaningful conversations along the ride. Glenndon James Wonders, 47, of Burlington, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Burlington. Born June 28, 1978, in Burlington, &nbsp;he was the son of Timothy Wonders and Frances Johnston VandenBoom.&nbsp;

He was a graduate of Crusade High School in Morning Sun.&nbsp;

Glenndon worked in construction and most recently he was waste collector until he started experiencing health problems. &nbsp;

He loved fishing, if he wasn’t out on the water, you could bet he was glued to a video game, binge-watching movies, blasting music, or belting out a song. Glenndon was stubborn, a total smart aleck, and absolutely set in his ways, but he could make anyone laugh, which is probably why he always said he should have been a comedian. He was rarely seen without his friends and his brain was basically a walking trivia encyclopedia.

Survivors include his mother, Frances VandenBoom of Winfield; father, Timothy Wonders of Burlington; daughter, Camille Mariona Hayes; estranged son, Tanner Burchette; five siblings, Jennifer (Dan) of Tipton, Stefannie (Don) of Burlington, Alisha of OK, Brett (Meagan) of Winfield, and Patrick of Wapello; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and sister, Stacy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.&nbsp;

Connie P. Micucci, 73, of Sperry, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington. Born January 24, 1952, in Charleston, S.C., she was the daughter of James Conway and Pauline Cooper Orvin. On June 22, 1974, she married Frank Jay Micucci in North Charleston, S.C.&nbsp;

Connie shined as a high school majorette and later pursued her passion at Cosmetology School, but it was in her role as a homemaker that she found her true purpose. Nothing brought her more joy than becoming a mother, grandmother and eventually, a great grandmother.

A dedicated member of Divine Mercy Parish, Connie shared her compassion through volunteer work with the Red Cross. Her love of adventure carried her around the world, including 12 memorable years living in Germany alongside her husband. It was in Germany that her and Frank were able to add the last member of their growing family. She took immense pride in supporting youth sports and activities-whether on the cheerleading sidelines, the soccer pitch, or the football field.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Frank Micucci of Sperry; two sons, Joseph Micucci of Little Rock, AR, and Frank (Michelle) Micucci of Tea, SD; daughter, Corine Micucci of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Jaeny, Joey, Jay, J.C., Cadence, ChaCha, Lee, Mason; three great grandchildren, Ava, Willa, Mya; sister, Lorraine Logan of Charleston, SC; and step-sister, Linda Carter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

A private service and burial will be in Keokuk National Cemetery.

Jeanette Arelene Camp , 96, of Burlington, died Saturday, November 15, 2025, at her home in Burlington.

Born May 16, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, IA, she was the daughter of Charles L and Anna E. Haberle Pitzer. At the age of 7, she moved to Burlington with her family. She attended school here and graduated from Burlington High School in 1947.&nbsp;

She started working for McKesson-Robbinson Pharmaceutical Company as a file clerk and worked her way up to being the secretary for the manager. After several years with the company, she was looking for a change and decided to move to Chicago, IL. Jeanette was able to start a wonderful job at Scott, Foresman Publishing Company and worked for them for 12 years.

Jeanettte was living in the downtown area of Chicago, Diversity Ave area, and Scott, Foresman and Company was located nearby on Lake Shore Drive. She remembered all of the fun and excitement with her job, especially after Scott, Foresman and Company had constructed a new, modern building and then moved the entire publishing company operation to the Chicago Suburb of Glenview. Due to the company's move, she moved to a new apartment on North Sheridan Road.

One of Jeanette's prized possessions is a scrap book she received from her fellow workers at &nbsp;Scott, Foresman and Company in Chicago. She was honored to receive a special personalized scrap book even though she had only worked with them for 12 years. Usually this was done for persons who retired after decades of work. She fondly remembered her fellow workers and the fun time she had while working there. She received well wishes from more than 80 people she had supervised over the years.&nbsp;

In 1973, Jeanette decided to move back to Burlington to care for her father during his illness. She started working for Schramm's Department Store in the alterations department and following an accident, which resulted in an injury to her hand and partial loss of two fingers, she was transferred to work on the 3rd floor in the office of the Ready To Wear Department. Eventually, she was transferred to the 4th floor for the Fine Dishware Department.&nbsp;

On October 24, 1981, she married Walter D. Camp &nbsp;in Burlington. They had met at a singles group at St. Lukes United Church of Christ. Walter's first wife Jean had passed away several years earlier from cancer.&nbsp;

Together, Walter and Jeanette traveled in their Airstream Trailer all over the United States and their travels frequently included meeting up with the Airstream Trailer Club, The Wally Byrum Caravan. On occasion, they were on the road traveling for six weeks or more at a time, all the while having fun exploring large areas of the United States and Canada. For many years, Jeanette and Walter enjoyed spending their winters in Mission, TX and living in their Airsteam Trailer. On October 20, 2004, Jeanette lost the love of her life when Walter passed away from a stroke following surgery for a pacemaker. &nbsp;

For many years, Jeanette enjoyed playing the piano, sewing and reading. Her other hobbies were making craft projects, such as table decorations, Christmas ornaments and decorative baskets. Additional pastimes she enjoyed were embroidery work on tablecloths and pillow cases and she especially enjoyed crocheting decorations on kitchen towels and afghans.&nbsp;

Survivors include her step-children, David C. (Amy) Camp of Burlington, and Debbie (Keith) Sommer of Mackinaw, IL; two nieces, Gretchen (Owen) Davis of Manassas Park, VA, and Margo (Jonathan) Woods of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Sarah (Chip) Overton, Mike Camp, Kristen Sommers, and Megan Sommers; three great-grandchildren, Charlie (Avery) Overton, Sammy Overton and Mandy Overton; and one great great-grandson, Brooks Overton.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles L. Pitzer and one grandson, Charlie Camp.

The funeral service for Mrs. Camp will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 22, 2025, at St Lukes United Church of Christ with Reverend Peggy Stott officiating. &nbsp;Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. &nbsp;A time of food and fellowship will be held in the St Lukes fellowship hall following the burial.

Joan Corrine Remmers Steffener, age 94, of rural Sperry, died peacefully Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Azria Health Prairie Ridge in Mediapolis, Iowa.&nbsp;

Born April 19, 1931, she was the daughter of Henry and Lena Hadler Remmers. On April 24, 1949, she married Arthur Steffener in Sperry.

She was a 1948 graduate of Sperry High School. Over the years, Joan worked for The National Research Bureau, Sperry Store, Park Manor Laundry Service, and That Extra Size Shop, before retiring from JCPenney’s. She also farmed alongside her husband and son.

Joan served as a Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Coordinator, Church Choir, Church Board Trustee, and a member of UMW: United Methodist Women and The Red Hat Society.

She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed attending her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s events; the Des Moines County Fair; reading; scrapbooking for her family; yard work; gardening; animals, especially dogs; her beloved Bassett Hounds Duchess; and country living.&nbsp;

Survivors include daughter-in-law: Mary Steffener of Sperry; grandsons: Darren (Erin) Steffener of Mediapolis, Nathan (Natalie) Steffener of Sperry, and Jordan Steffener of Sperry; granddaughter Jacqueline (Dilan) Beaird of Sperry; great grandchildren: Haley Ann Steffener, Ella Jayne Steffener, Luke David Steffener, Addison Joan Steffener, Jessica Claire Steffener, Hallie Ray Beaird, and Baby Beaird due in January of ’26; two nieces: Karen (Butch) Powers of Burlington and Bette (Denny) Russell of Sperry; one nephew, Richard (Holly) Steffener of Mediapolis; and several great nieces and nephews.

Born on January 29, 1931, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Carol and Manghild (Nelson) Riggs. On September 25, 1955, in Burlington, Iowa, she married Roger K. Erickson. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2012.

Anita was a 1948 graduate of Burlington High School and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Anita took great pride in being a stay-at-home mother. She also assisted her husband with his business Advanced T.V. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, making the most beautiful prayer shawls and being a part of her church Knit Wits Club. She also enjoyed sewing, making herself and family their clothing. Most of all Anita loved nothing more than being with her family.

She is survived by her two children Barbara (Bernie) Garcia and James Erickson all of Burlington; two grandchildren Vernave (Laura) Garcia and Javier (Marri VanDyke) Garcia; sister Mary Bentley of Rochester, Minnesota and sister in-law Dorothy Erickson. Also surviving are two nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Roger.

Per her wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.

The memorial service for Anita will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025, at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Richard Johnson officiating. A one-hour visitation will be prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at Lunning Chapel where the family will meet with friends. Interment will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

Rosemary E. Stuller, 79, of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Klein Center in West Burlington. Born on October 9, 1946, in Three Rivers, Michigan, she was the daughter of Walter and Thelma (Ditton) Pierce. She married Dale Stuller. He preceded her in death in 2016.

Rosemary, often known as "Rosie" or "Peanut", she loved to read, enjoyed playing bingo, and fishing. She worked as a laborer her entire life. Most notable was her time working at the basket factory and Lamont. She enjoyed bantering with the truckers at the hotel where she cleaned rooms. Everyone thought she was a little spitfire. There wasn’t a thrift store, swap meet or garage sale that she would miss. She loved finding a bargain.

She is survived by her three children: Rosetta (Aaron) Kapsch of Mount Pleasant, Amber Snowden of Texas, and son James Carroll of Texas; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and her sister Sandy of Michigan. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Michael, and eight siblings.

Per her wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel. No services will be held at this time.

Mary B. Poffenbarger, 64, of Burlington, Iowa, died Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born on August 29, 1961, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Robert and Marian (Philabaum) Huppenbauer. She married Jim Poffenbarger. Of that union they had two children Kara and Brent. They later divorced.

Mary was a 1979 graduate of Burlington High School. She worked for the City of Burlington as a secretary for fifteen years. Mary had a kind, gentle sprit and was one of the easiest people to talk to. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, especially her best doggie friend Duggy.

She is survived by her son Brent Poffenbarger of Burlington; two grandchildren: Brock and Grady Brookhart; two brothers: Bob (Nancy) Huppenbauer and Tom (Patty) Huppenbauer all of Burlington. She is also survived by three nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Kara.

Cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Aspen Grove Cemetery with Rev. Dave Yonker officiating.

Mrs. Patricia A. “Patty” Baltisberger, 76, of Burlington, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born in 1949 in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Phillip and Marguerite Bertrand. In 1971, Patty married James O. Baltisberger at St. John's Catholic Church in Burlington, Iowa.

Patty graduated from Burlington High School in 1967, and had worked for Winegard Company for ten years and then became a domestic home cleaner until her retirement. She enjoyed scrapbooking, taking care of her family and attending their sporting activities when they were growing up.&nbsp; Patty and Jim volunteered and ran the concession stands for both American Little League and Burlington High School sporting events for more than 15 years.&nbsp; Patty was a world-famous baker, and her recipe 'Mabel's Brownies' will go down in history as the greatest piece of chocolate to ever hit your lips. Her brownies and baked goods brought pure joy to family, friends, and coworkers for decades, served Marines in combat, and will be truly missed.&nbsp; She loved working in her flower gardens, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. &nbsp;

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jim; three sons, Aaron (Gwen) Baltisberger of Burlington, Patrick (Amber) Baltisberger, of West Liberty, and Kevin (Sonya) Baltisberger of Woodbridge, Virginia; Six grandchildren, Alyssa (Jesse) Hanson, Katie (Shandler) Powelson, Gavin, Nolan, Emma, and Adam; two great grandchildren, Barrett and Tamen; sisters and brothers, Phillip “Mickey” (Mariam) Bertrand, George Bertrand, Marguerite “Moggy” Lindsey, Charlotte Bertrand, and Virginia “Ginny” Hill; several nieces and nephews, and her cat, Sam.&nbsp;

Donna was born on May 1, 1949, in Fort Madison, Iowa, to Carl F. and Aileen (Anderson) Boecker. She was raised in Danville, Iowa, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Danville High School and worked for many years in office settings, performing computer and administrative work at Murray Iron Works, IAAP, Southeastern Community College, Harmony Bible Church, and First Baptist Church. On June 12, 1970, she married Orville Weyrick. Together they raised three children: Devin, Brenna, and Joel. Donna enjoyed reading, oil painting, being outdoors, watching sunsets, tending her flowers, and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes. She loved the beauty of the Christmas season and, most of all, its true meaning. At home, she delighted in caring for her family. She especially cherished video calls with her grandchildren and watching them play sports. In her retirement years, she loved designing and decorating the homes she and Orville renovated and flipped. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Orville Weyrick; her three children, Devin Weyrick of Burlington, Iowa; Brenna (Jared) Clark of Durant, Iowa, and their children Addysen, Reed, and Ellasyn; Joel (Stacey) Weyrick of Windfall, Indiana, and their children Wilhelm, Avriel, Conrad, and Coralie; her sister, LeAnn (Kim) Luttenegger; her brothers, Kenneth Boecker, Leonard (Rosemary) Boecker, and Randall Boecker; her brother-in-law, Ronald Darnell; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Tammy Ann Good, 62, of Lomax, Illinois, passed away at 4:25 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025 at her home.

Tammy was born July 25, 1963 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the daughter of Ronald D. and Elaine (Smith) Good. In 1979 she married Rodney McIntyre. They later divorced. In 1989 she married Kevin Vaughn. They later divorced.&nbsp;

Tammy worked all of her life in healthcare; often working more than one job at a time to provide for her family. Her caring personality made healthcare the perfect fit for her. She was employed by Oak Lane Nursing &amp; Rehab in Stronghurst, Rosebush Gardens in Burlington and Henderson County Home Health, where she took pride in allowing her patients to stay in the comfort of their own home. Lastly, she was employed as Social Director for the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, where she retired from.&nbsp;

In her free time, she enjoyed watching TV, especially episodes of Gun Smoke with her father. Most important to Tammy, was the time spent with her family.&nbsp;

Survivors include three children: Dena McIntyre of Lomax, David McIntyre of Lomax and Tiffany Davis of Watseka, Illinois; three grandchildren: Kyla, Alexis and Novalynn McIntyre; one sister: Sherry Good of Stronghurst and two nieces: Hannah Campbell and Caitlin Peterson.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Shane and Richard Good; one grandson: Ryan Davis and one nephew: Joshua Good.

Kristina Kay Bessine Seals, 58, of Burlington, died Saturday, November 15 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. She was born January 26,1967, in Burlington to Richard Charles and Betty Jean Sly Bessine. In 1988 she married Marcus Martin and they later divorced.

Kristina was a 1985 graduate of Notre Dame High School and of the Catholic faith. She worked as a Human Resources Manager at Alfagomma America, Inc. She enjoyed shopping, her dogs Bruiser, Baby, Reba and Gigi and absolutely adored time spent with her grandchildren.

Kristina is survived by her daughter Ashley (Matt) Grinnell of West Burlington; her sons Aric (Ashlee) Martin of Burlington and Anthony (Bethany) Martin of Fort Madison; six grandchildren; Cayden, Carsen, and Corben Grinnell; Mattelyn, Jaric, and Wrigley Martin; sisters Mary Bessine of Austin, Tx. and Cindy Bessine of Burlington; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Gene Bessine, and one nephew, Rayme Moore.

Kristina Kay Bessine Seals

Raymond David Spiekermeier,&nbsp;79, of West Point, passed away at 2 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at his home in West Point.&nbsp; He was born on July 23, 1946, in Fort Madison, the son of Raymond J.“Jargo” and C. Lucille Sickles Spiekermeier. On July 15, 1966, he married Charlotte Thompson at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2021.

He is survived by his daughter: Jean (Jim) Tennant of West Point, Iowa; grandsons: Chance (Kenzie) Tennant of West Point, Iowa, Chase (Jenna) Tennant of Norwalk, Iowa; great grandchildren: J.J. and Zoey; sisters-in-law: Audrey Diane of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Janet Horstman of Denmark, Iowa; brother-in-law: John Sander of Farmington, Iowa; two nephews whom he raised as sons: Dean (Angela) Sartain of Williamsburg, Virginia, Shawn (Kim) Thompson of Wever, Iowa and five nieces: Sandra, Jennifer, Kandys, Paula, Lori. Also surviving are several great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Charlotte; sister-in-law: Sharon Sander; brothers-in-law: Dean Thompson, Duane Sartain and niece: Andrea Sartain.

Dave graduated from St. James School in 1964, top 12 of his class. He served in the United States Naval Reserve. He owned and operated the West Point Bee/Donnellson Star. Later he worked for Central Standard and Standard of Beaverdale. Dave was a member of St. James the Less Catholic Church, West Point Jaycees, West Point Fire and Rescue, Past Time Club, Amateur Trap Shooters and Prairie Hunters. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed cat fishing and spending time on the river. His body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.

 </figure>Raymond David Spiekermeier,&nbsp;79, of West Point, passed away at 2 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at his home in West Point.&nbsp; He was born on July 23, 1946, in Fort Madison, the son of Raymond J.“Jargo” and C. Lucille Sickles Spiekermeier. On July 15, 1966, he married Charlotte Thompson at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2021. He is survived by his daughter: Jean (Jim) Tennant of West Point, Iowa; grandsons: Chance (Kenzie) Tennant of West Point, Iowa, Chase (Jenna) Tennant of Norwalk, Iowa; great grandchildren: J.J. and Zoey; sisters-in-law: Audrey Diane of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Janet Horstman of Denmark, Iowa; brother-in-law: John Sander of Farmington, Iowa; two nephews whom he raised as sons: Dean (Angela) Sartain of Williamsburg, Virginia, Shawn (Kim) Thompson of Wever, Iowa and five nieces: Sandra, Jennifer, Kandys, Paula, Lori. Also surviving are several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Charlotte; sister-in-law: Sharon Sander; brothers-in-law: Dean Thompson, Duane Sartain and niece: Andrea Sartain. Dave graduated from St. James School in 1964, top 12 of his class. He served in the United States Naval Reserve. He owned and operated the West Point Bee/Donnellson Star. Later he worked for Central Standard and Standard of Beaverdale. Dave was a member of St. James the Less Catholic Church, West Point Jaycees, West Point Fire and Rescue, Past Time Club, Amateur Trap Shooters and Prairie Hunters. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed cat fishing and spending time on the river. His body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation. Larry Nelson, 90, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025, at his home with family at his side.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Snyder &amp; Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Service of Mediapolis. Memorial services will follow on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Clover Creek Event Venue in Mediapolis with food and fellowship following. Larry Dale Nelson was born March 26, 1935, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Lawrence “Spike” and Sarah “Sally” (Rasmus) Nelson. He graduated from Mediapolis High School and later continued his education in Iowa City. From 1955 to 1959, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

On April 6, 1958, he married the love of his life, Juventina “Tina” Rocha, in Uvalde, Texas. Their love story was truly one in a million, deep, joyful, unwavering, and immediately apparent to anyone who met them. Together they built a life filled with family, adventure, friendship, and devotion.

Larry was a diligent and dedicated worker throughout his life. He began his career at Campbell Chain and Lehigh Leopold before working for his father and eventually becoming the owner of Nelson Trucking. He cared deeply for his employees and took great pride in the family business. His strong work ethic was shaped by his grandparents and parents.&nbsp;

Larry’s impact on Mediapolis is lasting. A gifted communicator and natural leader, he served for many years as both mayor and city council member. He was a pillar of the community and instrumental in the creation of the Mediapolis Community Theater, in which he also performed; one of the many projects to which he devoted his time, personal resources, and his wholehearted support. He was also active in the First Presbyterian Church, the Mediapolis Lions Club, and Ducks Unlimited.

In his daily life, Larry was known for his generosity, kindness, and sharp sense of humor. He loved a good joke, both hearing one and telling one. Larry was a thoughtful listener who offered guidance grounded in sincerity, experience, and faith. Together with Tina, wherever they traveled or lived, they formed lifelong friendships with ease.&nbsp;

Community and camaraderie were at the center of his life. He loved bowling, golfing with his buddies, traveling, and later wintering in San Antonio and Rancho Viejo, Texas. After moving to Burlington, his garage became the neighborhood gathering place for Saturday afternoon “meetings,” where friends shared stories, laughter, and a favorite drink. More recently, he took great delight in Wii bowling, card games, and conversation with his caregivers.

Above all, Larry cherished his daughters to no end. His love for his family was steadfast, joyful, and immeasurable. Everyone who knew Larry well loved him and he loved them right back.

Larry will be deeply missed by his daughters: Lori Dee “Chiquita” (Jerry) Yearwood of Burlington, Linda Dianne “Linny” Reynolds of Dallas City, IL, Lisa Day Nelson of Mediapolis, Lea Darci (Michael) Burke of Burlington, and Laci Dru (Clay) Johnson of Sperry; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife, Tina.

Leona Mae Cross, 93, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Burlington and Oakville, Iowa, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, November 6, 2025 at her daughter’s home. She was born May 12, 1932 in Oakville, Iowa, to Oscar and Sara Jesse Reddick Swanson. On May 6, 1951 she married in Wapello, Iowa, to Lloyd F. Cross of Burlington.&nbsp;

She always kept busy doing several jobs and enjoyed them all. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, reading, and her family. She was a member of the Wapello Church of the Nazarene.&nbsp;

Survivors are her two sons, Gerald of Burlington, Iowa, and Russell (Mary) of Alice, Texas, and one daughter, Vicki (Joe) Ward of Fort Worth, Texas. She has six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, three sisters, and one brother. Her wishes are to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Church of the Nazarene, Wapello, Iowa. A memorial will be announced at a later date.

Beverly June McFall (Duvel), 90, of rural Montrose, Iowa, passed away at 6:29 a.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics&nbsp; in Iowa City.

She was born on November 25, 1934 in Udell, Iowa, the daughter of Otha and Myrtle (Dochterman) Fenton. Bev graduated from Moravia High School in 1952. On June 5, 1955, she married Jerry Charles McFall in Centerville, Iowa, where they made their home for several years. Together they raised three children before Jerry’s passing in 2014 after fifty-nine years of marriage. Beverly then met Thomas Edward Duvel and they married on November 26, 2016.

Survivors include her husband: Tom of Montrose; son: Randy (Lisa) McFall of Donnellson; daughters: Kathy (Duane) Kramer of Donnellson and Pamela (Fletcher) Fett of Fort Madison; step-sons: Randy (Bonnie) Duvel of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mike Duvel of Troy, Missouri, Terry (Trisha) Duvel of Warrenton, Missouri; step-daughters: Debbi (Keith) Schwaab of Wentzville, Missouri, Becky (Terry) Roberts of Wentzville, Missouri and Tina (Cliff) Tucker of Troy, Missouri; one sister: Colleen Bryant of Niceville, Florida; many grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jerry; son-in-law: Craig Hayes; brothers: Otha Fenton, Jr., Lyle Fenton and Paul Fenton; two sisters: Barbara Allen and Lela Ponsetto.

Bev was an avid golfer in her early years and played weekly in a women’s league. She loved growing roses in her yard, baking prize winning pies and making the best chocolate chip cookies ever. One of her name-sake granddaughters lovingly referred to her as “Grandma Cookie”. Bev also devoted many years of service to the National T.T.T. Society. The group raises money to send numerous girls to camp each year to help build new life skills, self-confidence, as well as lifelong memories and friendships. Bev believed this was a very important mission and was proud of her involvement.

Bev and Jerry eventually moved their family from Centerville to Donnellson where they owned and operated Gambles stores in Donnellson and Fort Madiosn for twenty years. They later moved to Des Moines, Iowa where they both worked for Conlin Management Company for fifteen years before retiring to their current home on the Mississippi River in rural Montrose. Bev loved property management, meeting new tenants, managing the day-to-day operations of a large apartment complex and keeping all the records by hand. Even in retirement, she and Jerry owned two rental properties for several years.

Retiring to their house by the river in Montrose had been a dream of hers and Jerry’s and they loved it there. They enjoyed watching the eagles, the barge traffic and living close to all of their family. Later, Tom married and joined her there and the two of them took great care of each other, filling the last nine years with love and companionship. Through their marriage, Bev gained many new family members and friends.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson. The family will not be present.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2025, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at Schmitz Funeral Home in Donnellson with Reverend Dana Jurgens officiating.

Burial will be at the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in her memory for Green Acres Country Club in Donnellson or the National T.T.T. Society.
