Thomas Ray "Tom" Laucamp age 66, died on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 at his home in Eldora, with his wife, Debbie, at his side.

Tom was born in Muscatine, on Dec. 19, 1957, to his parents Marian Gay Cunningham and Mearl Almond Laucamp. He worked in the carpenter trade most of his life.&nbsp;

Tom is survived by his wife of 26 years, Debra Kay Laucamp of Eldora; son, Corey (Beki) Laucamp of Geneva; daughter, Lisa Swafford of Ottumwa; step-children, Jennifer (Chris) Johns of Evansdale; Tammy Tournier (Jay Bruno) of Eldora; Daniel Tournier Jr. of Waterloo; Sisters:&nbsp; Chris (David) Oleson of West Burlington and Mari (Pat) Garrett of Mediapolis; five grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and his good friend/boss, Chris Shepherd.

Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded. A celebration of life will occur on Friday, Oct. 25 with his family.

Ronald Charles "Bean" Beening Jr., 74, of Burlington, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington. Born Aug. 7, 1950, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Ronald Charles and Enez Pernila Anderson Beening. &nbsp;

He was a Journeyman Plumber and Pipe Fitter and worked at the Ordinance Plant for 10 years.

Ronald came to Burlington over 40 years ago, on a plumbing job out of Chicago. He loved the area and decided to make his home here in Burlington where he made many good friends. Over the years, he loved his dogs as his family. He enjoyed music and played the violin.

Survivors include his sister, Lynn Steiner of Bellwood, Ill. and three nephews, Glen (Monica) Steiner, David (Genie) Steiner, and John (Donna) Steiner. Also, six great nieces and nephews: Kelsey (Michael) Walz, Collin (Amy), Kirsten, Kyle, Shelby and Jackson Steiner, and one great-grand nephew, Ezra.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Jill Ann Hittle

Richard “Oscar” Cline, 68, of Burlington, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born Aug. 1, 1956, in Burlington, he was the son of Oscar Richard and Patsy Lou Neufner Cline. He married Tara Hamilton, they later divorced.

Oscar worked for Univar for over 30 years.

He was very much about his family, and his grandson was his world! He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, shooting darts, tubing down the Skunk River, walking trails, camping and traveling. He was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and adored his dog Herbie.

He is survived by his two daughters; Amber Blynn Cline of Ottumwa and Mackenzie Marie Cline of Burlington; grandson Iverson Oscar Lee Applegate; sister Pam (Tom) Newberry of Burlington; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his fiancé’ Tracy Koett.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The funeral service for Oscar will be 3 p.m. Thursday, October 24 at Lunning Chapel. Burial will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for his grandson’s education or to the Des Moines County Humane Society.

Richard “Oscar” Cline

Dennis Roy Miller, 69, of Burlington, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born June 20, 1955, in Burlington, he was the son of James Leroy and Marilyn Gieselman Miller.

He graduated from Mediapolis High School.&nbsp;

Dennis enjoyed morel hunting, sky diving and loved to spend his winters in Mexico. These last few years he had become an Iowa Women's Basketball fan because of Caitlin Clark. Dennis was also well known for socializing with his friends, he would go to town every night for at least a few hours.

Survivors include his father, James Leroy Miller; brother, Bob (Traci) Miller of Winfield; sister, Penny (Rick) Dopler of Burlington; three nieces; one nephew; many great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The funeral service for Mr. Miller will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, with Pastor Wally Reynolds officiating. Private family burial will be held in Old Stone Cemetery.

Dennis Roy Miller

Vivian Sylvia Gunsolley, 99, died early morning on Oct. 21, 2024, at Klein Center in West Burlington. Born on March 30, 1925, in Williams, Ariz., she was the daughter of Gerald A. and Blanche I. Stewart Gelatt. A year later the family moved to Fort Madison, and later to Burlington, where Vivian attended Jr. and Sr. High School. After graduating she attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1946 and then the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. During this time Vivian met and fell in love with the young man across the road on Cliff Road Burlington, Arnold H. Wiemann, Jr. and they were married Dec. 28, 1947, he preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1990. Together they had three children, Gerald, Suzan, and Donald.

Vivian was a member of the Community of Christ Church where, over the years, she served as Women’s Leader, Skylark Leader for young girls and served as a Priest in the Priesthood. She worked for Mercy Hospital where she retired from after many years. She also worked for a short period of time at Elmview Nursing Home and the Des Moines County Home. Vivian and Arnold made two health trips to Honduras and had a young man from Honduras stay in their home for nine months. She enjoyed spending time at the Sew N Sew Shop and Cheryl’s School of Dance. Vivian was exceptional at sewing and quilting. She loved spending the winter months in southern Texas with friends.

On Sept. 24, 1999, Vivian married Norman Gunsolley and moved to California. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2013. She had three stepchildren, Linda (Bob) Wilson, Steve Gunsolley, and Jamae Gunsolley.

In 2018 Vivian moved back to Burlington to live with her daughter Suzan and they later moved to Johnston. In June 2023 Vivian was ready to move home so she moved into Klein Center.

She is survived by her son Gerald “Jerry” (Marge) Wiemann of Burlington and daughter Suzan Strandberg of Johnston, Iowa; all six of her grandchildren that were very special to her; eighteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and four more great-great grandchildren on the way and daughter in-law Claudia Moore. Also surviving are several wonderful nieces and nephews and two special friends from Klein Center: Mike Crawford and Linda Hand.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Arnold Wiemann and Norman Gunsolley; son Donald Wiemann; brother Marvin Gelatt and son in-law Greg Strandberg.

Per Vivian’s wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded with Lunning Chapel.

The memorial service for Vivian will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at Lunning Chapel with her children sharing. Family will meet with friends at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery following her service.

LeRoy R. Payne, 85, of Burlington, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born Nov. 4, 1938, in Wyman, at home, he was the son of Robert F. and Evelyn L. Payne. He married Dorothy Dagenhart on Nov. 22, 1994, in Dallas City, Ill. She preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 2019.

LeRoy worked for BNSF for 23 years. He retired in 2002. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.

He loved cars and was an excellent mechanic. He enjoyed sprint cars, going out to eat and loved his sweets! He was meticulous with his yard work and his home.

Survivors include his two sons; Farren LeRoy Payne and Jay Karl Payne (Kim Delap); step-daughter Robin Payne (Justin Morse); eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Butch Payne and Glen Richard Payne; four sisters, Patricia Hinkel, Kathy Luhn, Donna Pacha and Janet Welder; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog “Cowboy”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy and son Darrell Payne.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Lunning Chapel. Pastor Larry Dodds will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service.

Brent Allen Harrison, 61, of Dallas City, Ill., died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at his home. Brent was born May 23, 1963, in Burlington, the son of Charles “Charlie” and Delores “Dee” Harrison.&nbsp;

After attending Dallas City High School, he worked as a deck hand on barges. He also worked for his father at Harrison Construction and with his sister and brother-in-law at Quality Fisheries in Niota.&nbsp; Brent’s favorite thing to do was to be out on the river. He loved fishing and would often share his catch with family and friends.&nbsp; When he wasn’t on the river, he enjoyed mushroom hunting and just being outdoors. He also enjoyed having his own garden and growing his own vegetables.&nbsp; Brent was a quiet and very kind man who always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was also an avid NASCAR and Indianapolis Colts fan.

Survivors include four sisters: Theresa (Kirby) Marsden of Fort Madison, Cheri (David) Stevens of Dallas City, Julie (David) Nudd of Dallas City and Stacie Harrison of Estero, Fla. and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents, one nephew (Ryan Marsden) and one great nephew (Duncan Stevens).&nbsp; A celebration of Brent’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024 at Banks &amp; Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. Brent Allen Harrison

John Thomas Rice, 82, of Burlington, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born Aug. 14, 1942, in Burlington, he was the son of Verne and Elsie Belle Miller Rice. &nbsp;

John grew up in Oak Park, Ill. where he graduated high school. In 1960 he came to Iowa for college and remained for 62 years. &nbsp;He graduated from Parsons College in 1965 and earned his Master's Degree from Western Illinois University in 1975. John loved growing up in the Chicago area but said many times how glad he was to become an Iowa Boy.&nbsp;

John's first teaching job was at Washington School followed by 32 years at Oak Street Middle School. On July 10, 1971 John married Linda Lee Wittkamp, who was teacher at Blackhawk Elementary School and from their union they were blessed with three children.

He was of the Christian Faith. John enjoyed his boat trips in Minnesota at his summer cabin, going out to his Fairfield farm and traveling to different states and Canadian provinces. He also had many hobbies including collecting, stamps, coins, badges, patches and was a cars enthusiast. He also enjoyed listening to the police scanner.&nbsp;

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Linda Rice of Burlington; three children, Greg (Juliea)&nbsp; Rice of Aledo, Ill., Brandon (Eden) Rice of Burlington, and Melissa (Cameron) Capps of Burlington; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to&nbsp; 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

Patricia Joan Rose, 93, of West Burlington, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at the Wapello Specialty Care in Wapello.

Born Nov. 27, 1930, in Vinton, she was the daughter of Rex S. and Mary Louella Thompson Morris. On June 4, 1950, she married Harold Eugene Rose Jr. in Mount Pleasant. He died on Sept. 14, 1984.

She was a 1949 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She then attended Iowa Wesleyan College.&nbsp;

Patricia worked for the Mt. Pleasant Telephone Company, IAAP in Middletown, Sylvania Electric, IRC, Champion Spark Plug and worked in the catalog department for Sears. She worked with her husband establishing Rose's Bait and Tackle Shop and continued after his death to operate it for a total of 36 years.

She belongs to the Eastern Star E.C. Blackmar #306 of Burlington and is a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #58 in Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed gardening, canning, &nbsp;reading, listening to music, and going to dances with her husband. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.&nbsp;

Survivors include her children, Harold E. (Marian) Rose Jr. of O'Fallon, IL, and Cindy Lou Pellican of West Burlington; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; three nieces and three nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Orville and Virgil Morris.

There will be no formal services. Burial will be with her husband in Keokuk National Cemetery at a later date.

She is survived by her brother Larry Sorenson of West Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Elva Mae Schultz, 94, of Burlington, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at her home. Born Sept. 29, 1930, in Davenport, she was the daughter of Orval L. and Lillian L. Riefe. She graduated from Davenport High School and attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., where she majored in fashion design.

She married Warren R. Schultz on July 15, 1955, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on Nov.&nbsp; 24, 2022.

Elva worked at the former Davenport Bank and Trust as a bookkeeper in 1949 and became the first woman bank teller in 1954. Elva co-owned Beckman Professional Dry Cleaners and Quick Clean Laundry from 1972 to 1989. The was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Burlington Women’s Club and the Retired Teachers’ Bowling League.

Elva was an avid bridge player, world traveler and loved gardening. She had the best green thumb — plants in her greenhouse thrived under her care! She was a hard worker and very independent. She mowed her own lawn, drove her cars, and used technology to chat with her grandkids and friends.&nbsp;She loved her Iowa Hawkeye basketball! Go Hawks!

She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Sandra (Dirk) Miller and Linda (Kevin) Ross, both of Wever; five grandchildren, Melissa (Steve) Brock, Eric (Jenna) Miller, Emily (Bob) Dunlap, Erin (James) Andries and Hannah Ross; six great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kyle, Alexander, Carson, Olivia and Luke, and special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Delmar Riefe.

The memorial graveside funeral service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct.&nbsp; 25, at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. Pastor Mary Pugh will officiate.

Memorials have been established for the Burlington Public Library Children’s Department and the Burlington Steamboat Senior Center.

According to her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.

Charlene L. Gerst, 62, of Morning Sun, died Tuesday, Oct, 15, 2024, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington. She trusted and loved the Lord throughout her courageous battle with stage 4 breast cancer.

Born Aug. 28, 1962, in Morris, Minn., she was the daughter of Donald Bill and Della Ruby Metzger Luthi.

Charlene graduated from Morris Area High School in 1981. She attended Alexandria Technical School of Interior Design. On March 22, 1987 she married Charles D. Gerst in Morris, Minn.

Charlene was self-employed and ran a cleaning service for 35 years. She attended the Apostolic Christian Church her entire life where she repented and was baptized Oct. 28, 1979 in Morris, Minn. She was a member of the Mediapolis Apostolic Christian Church. She was very involved with the Operation Christmas Child program. She loved sending cards for all occasions to her loved ones. She volunteered as an EMT for Morning Sun Community Ambulance and Mediapolis Ambulance Services.

Survivors include her husband Charles of Morning Sun;&nbsp; married David Zimmerman and to this union Orrin and Cassia. Also survived by daughter-in-law Anna and grandson, Isaiah of Vail, Arizona; Mother, Della Luthi of Morris, Minnesota; siblings, Sheryl Luthi of Egan, Minn., Bradley (Danette) Luthi of Gretna, Neb. and Galen Luthi of Morris, Minn.; one niece, Claire Luthi and one nephew, Gavin Luthi.

She was preceded in death by her father Donald and daughter Janella Zimmerman.

The funeral for Charlene will be 10 a.m Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 at the Mediapolis Apostolic Christian Church with ministers of the church officiating. Wayne Earl Reighard, 89, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, following a short illness.

Wayne was born December 14, 1934, in Jefferson County, the son of Clarence Roscoe and Blanche Emmaline (Statler) Reighard. He began his education in Germanville, transferred to Keota, and later attended West Chester High School. Wayne married Myrtle Elizabeth “Sally” Crom on January 8, 1955, in Monmouth, Ill., cherishing nearly 70 years together.

Wayne proudly served in the National Guard before enlisting in the United States Army, where he served honorably from 1954 to 1957, followed by four years in the Army Reserve. Wayne was especially proud to have participated in the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., an experience that allowed him to honor his fellow veterans and reflect on his own contributions.

After a brief time in Columbus Junction, Wayne made Washington his home for most of his adult life. Following his military service, he drove a truck for Pepsi Co. and then owned and operated several businesses, including Wayne’s Standard, G &amp; W Tire and Appliance, Wayne’s Oil and Tire, and Wayne’s Repair. He also ran a wrecker service for 43 years. Wayne raised a large garden that many benefited from, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Sally, of Washington, Iowa; son Joel and wife Janet Reighard of Burlington; son Brian and wife Susan Reighard of DeWitt; sister-in-law Ruth and husband Ray Meth; brother-in-law John Crom; one brother; along with 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Phyllis Reighard; son Jeffrey Reighard; three brothers: Allen, Caroll, and Gailen Reighard; and two sisters: Joyce Chance and Iva Burkett.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at the Jones &amp; Eden Funeral Home, with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Betty Jeffers and companion: Dale Parren (he preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1022).

Donna enjoyed visiting with others as she was a people person.

Paul R. “Rudy” Moeller,&nbsp;69, of West Point, passed away at 11:14 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1954, in Fort Madison, the son of Rudolph and Marcella Klesner Moeller. On Nov.&nbsp; 5, 1977, he married Cathy S. Schneider at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Madison. She preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2001.

He is survived by his daughter: Pam (Mark) Hymes of St. Paul, Iowa; son: Scott (Karen) Moeller of Donnellson, Iowa;&nbsp; grandchildren: Abigail, Natalie, Jonah, Brady, Claire; special friend: Jody Krebill; siblings: Sr. Joanne Moeller of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Delbert (Barb) Moeller of West Point, Iowa, Ronnie (Sharon) Moeller of Fort Madison, Iowa, Vic (Maureen) Moeller of Port Aransas, Texas, Gary (Sandy) Moeller of Des Moines, Iowa, Roger (Joan) Moeller of West Point, Iowa, Nancy (Mike) Cutler of Marion, Iowa. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Cathy; infant son: Cole; brother: Richard.

Paul was a graduate of Marquette Catholic High School. He retired from J.I. Case and was a greenskeeper for Green Acres Country Club and courier for Menke and Company. He was a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point and Green Acres Country Club. Paul enjoyed watching the Hawkeyes, golfing, riding his motorcycle and shooting pool. He was very social and enjoyed being around people.

Mary A. Pfeiffer, 61, of West Burlington, died Sunday Oct. 13, 2024, at her home.

Born on Sept. 2, 1963, in Washington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Robert and Mary Greer Amlong. She and Richard Ritz were life partners, he preceded her in death on June 6, 2021.

Mary graduated from Highland High School. She enjoyed crafting, painting, fishing, riding motorcycles and was always up to go to thrift store shopping. Mary had an amazing sense of humor that would bring a smile or laughter to everyone. Most of all Mary loved spending time with her family especially her granddaughter.

She is survived by her two children: Lacie (Eric) Pringle of Washington, Iowa and Robert Ritz of New London, Iowa; granddaughter Lennyx Pringle and baby girl Pringle on the way. She is also survived by several siblings, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband David Nichols and life partner Richard Ritz.

Per her wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel. Services will be held at a later date.

Doug worked in sheet metal maintenance, taught welding at Black Hawk Community College and retired as a welder from John Deere after 20 years.&nbsp; He was a member of the Yarmouth Baptist Church and very involved in singing with the Rhythm Rockers, at Old Threshers and in many local churches. Doug enjoyed woodworking, fishing, going to the races in Columbus Junction, showing off his 1984 Pontiac in car shows and most of all, being with his family.&nbsp;

David Michael Grothe, 82, of Bettendorf, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Genesis Clarissa C Cook Hospice in Bettendorf, IA.

Born July 9, 1942, in Burlington, he was the son of Ralph C. and Johanna Cordula Albrecht Grothe. He met the love of his life Barbara Krekel while attending junior college in Burlington and they married on April 8, 1966.&nbsp;

He was a graduate of Burlington Notre Dame High School. He continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree.

David worked as an industrial steel sales representative retiring at age 75 in 2017.

David was a member of St John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf, IA. He was a regular blood donor for many years.

David was a quiet, humble man, knowing his many blessings and thanking God for them. He enjoyed sports and keeping up on current events. Most of all he loved and provided well for his family. We are blessed to have known him.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara Grothe of Bettendorf, IA; three children, Bradley (Tracey) Grothe of Centerville, IA, Elizabeth (Paul) Ingamells of West Des Moines, IA, Erin (Travis) Brown of Ankeny, IA; six grandchildren, Ben (Maggie) Grothe of Cary, IL, Nathan Grothe of Ankeny, IA, Abagayle Ingamells of Pickerington, OH, Jonathan Ingamells of West Des Moines, IA, Sophia Ingamells of West Des Moines, IA, and Jackson Steinfeldt of Ankeny, IA; two great-granddaughters, Evelyn Grothe and Whitney Grothe both of Cary, IL.

Constance Mary "Connie" Cummings, 102, formerly of Davenport, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at the Azria Health Prairie Ridge in Mediapolis.

Born June 9, 1922, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Leon Raymond and Florence Rose Bulger Cummings.

She was a 1940 graduate of St. Paul's Catholic High School. At age 26 she went to Marycrest College and graduated in 1952.

Connie worked for Northwestern Bell Phone Company, Catholic Social Service of Rock Island, taught fourth grade for one year at St. Patrick's Grade School, and taught second grade at McKinley Elementary School in Davenport for 24 years. She Retired in 1987.

She was a member of St. Paul's Apostle Catholic Church in Davenport, currently a member of Divine Mercy Parish and The retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed watching golf, tennis, and college sports. Connie also enjoyed sewing, playing piano for her own enjoyment, cooking and enjoyed long walks even in her 90's.&nbsp;

Her family includes numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Thomas, Hugh, Jim, and John Cummings; six sisters, Kathleen Parmeter, Alice Luers, Rosemary Korb, Jean Ertz, Anne Smith, and Elizabeth Passamani; half-brother, Leon Raymond Jr.; step-sister, Lillian Johnson.&nbsp;

Survivors include her siblings: Jeff Berry of Argyle, Iowa, Terry (Bob) Conlee of Argyle, Iowa, Steve (Carrie) Berry of Burlington, Iowa; nieces: Laura (Rob) Conlee - Russell, Jennifer (Ryan) McMillan, LouAnna (Jeremy) Bryant, Amanda (Charles) Holloway; nephews: Will (Amy) Conlee, Rob (Holly) Conlee, Robert (Marie) Berry; special friend: Linda Derr and several cousins.

Kathy was a 1978 graduate of Burlington High School. She enjoyed crafts, woodworking and spending time with her nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Kathleen Melinda “Kathy” Berry

Linda D. Miller, 75, of Burlington, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born on April 24, 1949, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Delbert and Laura Hennings Carlson. On Jan. 14, 1967, in Kahoka, Mo., she married Ronald Miller. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1993.&nbsp;She later met Steve Mehaffy. For thirty years they raised their families together.

Linda graduated in the class of 1967 from Burlington High School. She worked for Winegard for forty-four years and retired in 2014. In her free time Linda enjoyed bowling, crocheting, attending craft shows, fishing, going camping, decorating her yard and flower beds, having Steve take her on boat rides on the Mississippi River and gambling. She and Steve traveled the United States by vehicle and visited all but one state, Hawaii. Linda never passed up an opportunity to watch her grandchildren in their sporting events. Most of all Linda loved her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by her best friend of thirty years Steve Mehaffy; five children: Christy (David) Cloke of Quincy, Ill., Robert (Jill) Miller of Loveland, Colo., Sheri (Tony) Ertz of Burlington, Iowa, Jill (Eric) Nalley of Mediapolis, Nathan (Laura) Mehaffy of Danville; twelve grandchildren: Brittany (Brandon Winklejohn) Cloke, Austin Cloke, Kale Miller, Kylie (Keenan) Niemi, Adam (Hope) Stogdill, Blake Stogdill, Clayton (Hallie) Stogdill, Allison, Lily and Henry Nalley, Dane and Marin Mehaffy; three great-grandchildren: Lucas Stogdill, Peyton Stogdill, Baby boy Winklejohn and siblings: Larry (Lynn) Carlson, Randy (Mary) Carlson, Rick Carlson, Mike Carlson, Danny (Lee) Hennings. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald Miller, Harold Miller, Wilda Miller, Ann Miller, Heather Carlson, Patty Tansey, Gary Tansey and Shirley Carlson.

The funeral service for Linda will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Nate Todd officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at Lunning Chapel. Burial will be held in Aspen Grove.

A memorial has been established in her memory for Southeast Iowa Regional Home Health and Hospice.

Miller, 75, of Burlington, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.Born on April 24, 1949, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Delbert and Laura Hennings Carlson. On Jan. 14, 1967, in Kahoka, Mo., she married Ronald Miller. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1993.&nbsp;She later met Steve Mehaffy. For thirty years they raised their families together.Linda graduated in the class of 1967 from Burlington High School. She worked for Winegard for forty-four years and retired in 2014. In her free time Linda enjoyed bowling, crocheting, attending craft shows, fishing, going camping, decorating her yard and flower beds, having Steve take her on boat rides on the Mississippi River and gambling. She and Steve traveled the United States by vehicle and visited all but one state, Hawaii. Linda never passed up an opportunity to watch her grandchildren in their sporting events. Most of all Linda loved her family and spending time with them.She is survived by her best friend of thirty years Steve Mehaffy; five children: Christy (David) Cloke of Quincy, Ill., Robert (Jill) Miller of Loveland, Colo., Sheri (Tony) Ertz of Burlington, Iowa, Jill (Eric) Nalley of Mediapolis, Nathan (Laura) Mehaffy of Danville; twelve grandchildren: Brittany (Brandon Winklejohn) Cloke, Austin Cloke, Kale Miller, Kylie (Keenan) Niemi, Adam (Hope) Stogdill, Blake Stogdill, Clayton (Hallie) Stogdill, Allison, Lily and Henry Nalley, Dane and Marin Mehaffy; three great-grandchildren: Lucas Stogdill, Peyton Stogdill, Baby boy Winklejohn and siblings: Larry (Lynn) Carlson, Randy (Mary) Carlson, Rick Carlson, Mike Carlson, Danny (Lee) Hennings.
